Our Story
The VeganMed Foundation (VMF) has a vision to be the premiere organization for medication transparency. No lives should be lost due to medication misinformation. Recognizing the urgent need for greater transparency in medication labeling, VMF was founded in 2025 as the nonprofit arm of VeganMed, Inc.
We believe everyone has the right to know what’s in their medications—because, for some, it’s not just a matter of choice; it can be a matter of life and death. Our mission is to provide full ingredient transparency in medications, protecting and empowering patients with drug and food allergies.
VMF focuses on advancing education, advocacy, and research efforts to promote ingredient transparency in health products. We are committed to creating a world where medications are safe, inclusive, and sustainable for all. This is particularly important for individuals with allergies, religious restrictions, or dietary preferences. Our work is critical for patients who suffer from conditions like Alpha-gal Syndrome (red-meat allergy).
Founder Story
Dr. Sachin A. Shah is a dedicated healthcare leader committed to science serving humanity. His passion for service began in middle school while volunteering at a leprosy village in Tanzania. A pharmacist, researcher, and advocate, he has led groundbreaking studies on cardiovascular safety, non-invasive heart therapies (EECP), and medication ingredient transparency. Currently, he champions ethical healthcare, ensuring patients—especially those with alpha-gal syndrome, religious, or dietary concerns—can make informed choices. A key driver behind an FDA Citizen Petition, Sachin is redefining healthcare with integrity, compassion, and scientific rigor.
